Terms and Conditions

These terms are here to make sure we're both clear on how things work before and during our time together. I've tried to keep them as straightforward as possible. If anything isn't clear, please do get in touch and I'll be happy to talk it through.

Please note: while I've written these terms carefully, they are not a substitute for professional legal advice. For anything complex, I'd always recommend speaking to a solicitor.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to all appointments and services booked with me, Kay Elizabeth, a sole trader based in Leeds, UK. By booking an appointment with me, you're agreeing to these terms. If you book on behalf of someone else, you're agreeing on their behalf too.

2. Booking your appointment

Appointments can be booked through my online booking site at booking.kayelizabeth.co.uk. Your booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation from me.

3. Cancellation and late-notice policy

I completely understand that life doesn't always go to plan, and I'll always try to be as flexible as I can. Here's what I ask in return:

  • More than 24 hours' notice: Please contact me as soon as you know you need to cancel or reschedule. With more than 24 hours' notice, I'm happy to reschedule your appointment at no extra charge.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time, the full session fee becomes due. Last-minute slots are very difficult to fill, and this time has been reserved especially for you.
  • Non-attendance: If you don't attend your appointment without letting me know, the full session fee will be charged.

If there are exceptional circumstances, please do reach out. I'll always listen and we'll do our best to find a fair way forward together.

4. Payment

Prices for all sessions are listed on my pricing page. Payment is due at the time of booking through my booking site unless we've agreed otherwise in advance. I accept payment by card through my booking system and by bank transfer.

If a session fee is outstanding following a late cancellation or non-attendance, I'll be in touch by email to arrange payment.

5. Doula package terms

My postpartum doula packages come with the following additional terms:

  • The 10-hour package must be used within 1 month of your birth date.
  • The 20-hour package must be used within 2 months of your birth date.
  • Each visit must be a minimum of 3 hours.
  • A free one-hour prenatal meet (from 36 weeks) is included with both packages and does not count toward your package hours.
  • Package hours that are unused within the time window are not refundable unless we have agreed otherwise.

6. Your health and suitability for treatment

My treatments are holistic and complementary therapies. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about your health, please speak with your GP or midwife before booking.

Before your first appointment, I'll ask you to complete an intake form. This helps me make sure the treatment is the right fit for you. Please be as thorough as you can, because I rely on this to keep you safe and well supported throughout your session.

I reserve the right to decline or end a session at any point if I believe a treatment is not appropriate or safe for you at that time. If this happens, I'll always explain my reasons and, where I can, suggest an alternative approach.

7. Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, please let me know when booking. Some treatments are adapted or are not suitable at certain stages of pregnancy. Please also let me know of any complications with your current or recent pregnancy or birth.

8. Confidentiality

Everything you share with me before, during, or after a session is treated with complete confidence. I won't share your personal information with anyone else, except where I have a legal or ethical duty to do so, for example in relation to a safeguarding concern.

9. Photography and recordings

I will never photograph or record you without your prior consent. If you're happy to share a review or a testimonial after your session, I'd be really grateful, but there is absolutely no pressure to do so.

10. Limitation of liability

I hold appropriate professional insurance for all of the treatments I offer. While I take every care to ensure your safety and comfort, I cannot accept liability for any loss or damage that is not directly caused by my negligence. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other matter where it would be unlawful to do so.

11. Your data

I take your privacy seriously. Please read my Privacy Notice to understand how I collect, store, and use your personal information.

12. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continuing to book with me after changes are posted means you're happy with the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
